Bass Industrial Estate

Architect A A Couchman.Between 1892 and 1903. Total frontage of about 1,000
ft.Massive square tower of 4 storeys and slender chimney in centre of line of and slender chimney in centre of line of
6 pavilions in red brick. Pavilions are of 6 storeys and 5 bays, 4 windows,
with a projecting timber crane hood to centre of top storey. Pavilions joined
by wood galleries of 2storeys. Windows are segmental-headed. Brick buttresses
to ends and between bays. Bays have dentil cornices. Blue brick plinths. Rear
.wings of 4 storeys. Most impressive feature of industrial estate in same style
2 steam engines said to be in engine house.
