12/87 Clamp Gate Bridge
Bridge. c.1805, probably by John Rennie. Red brick in English
bond with shaped gritstone coping. 3 span. Elliptical arches,
with brick band and pilasters on rounded cutwaters with gritstone
caps. Brick parapet slightly splays to end piers. Stone hub cap
protectors. One of a series of bridges over the Hobhole Drain,
laid out by John Rennie when the Fens were drained. Source.
