5/17 Elms Farm House
II
Farmhouse. 1848. Built for the Whichcote family of Aswarby Park.Red brick
in Flemish bond, slate roofs with a pair of brick gable stacks having
dentillated ashlar cornices. L-plan. 2 storey 3 bay front, the centre bay
is advanced with an open dentillated pediment and there is a dentillated
eaves course. Central semi circular headed doorway with ashlar key and
impost blocks contains a 6 panelled door with traceried overlight. Flanked
by single glazing bar sashes. To first floor are 3 similar windows. All
windows have cambered brick arched heads with flush splayed ashlar lintels.
In the central gable is an ashlar plaque bearing the date 1848 in raised
letters.
