7/116 The Grange

II

House. Late C17, altered mid C18 and C19. Coursed squared limestone rubble
with ashlar quoins and dressings, pantiled roof with 2 gable and single
ridge yellow brick stacks. U-plan. 2 storey plus attics 3 bay front with
moulded brick eaves course. Central glazed double doors are flanked by
single glazing bar sashes. To first floor are 3 plain sashes. All openings
have plain ashlar lintels and reveals. In the roof are 3 flat roofed
dormers with 2 light plain casements and leaded cheeks. Interior retains
C18 raised and fielded panelling, shutters and broad architraves as well as
a late C18 stick baluster dog leg staircase. Staggered butt purlin roof.
