6/9 Cross Base (Formerly
Listed as Cross Remains)

Cross base and part of shaft; C14; ashlar. A square stone base
with four cusped angles to form octagonal plinth in which is a square
socket containing the shaft base. Lower part of shaft is square then
comes up via stop chamfers into a tapering octagonal section, of which
only approx 4' survives. Alit much abraded. A vertical slot in the north
side of the shaft is probably a later repair.
