Farm house; C17 with later C17 and C19 additions and alterations.
Coursed ironstone rubble with ashlar dressings, slate roof with stone
coped dutch gables probably added c.1820 with two brick ridge stacks on
moulded stone bases. L-shaped plan. Twp storey with garret, five
irregular bays with ashlar quoins and off centre C17 six panelled door
with plain stone surround, flanked by single C19 divided sashes with beyond
to the right a small C19 single light and a C17 2 light mullioned window
with moulded stone surround. Above are 3 C17 3 light ovolo mullioned
windows with iron casements and moulded stone surrounds. Interior has
three beams with C17 shield shaped stops and at the top of the stair are
five C17 splat balusters. Roof over main block is C17, staggered butt
purlin in softwood of immense scantling.
