3/89 Old Farmhouse
II

House, C16 with C17 and C19 alterations and additions. Coursed limestone
rubble with ashlar dressings, pantiled roof with stone coped gable and
a single brick ridge stack. L-plan, east front of single storey plus
attic, 3 bays. Central planked door beneath C16 4 centred ashlar arch
with moulded frame and hollow spandrels. To left a single 2 light
casement, to right a single Yorkshire glazing bar sash; both windows
have timber lintels. Above is a single light dormer with tiled roof.
On the left hand end of the block are single 3 light ovolo moulded C17
windows with cornices in the ground and first floors. The range to the
right embodies part of a C17 structure, but has been substantially
altered later. Inside, there are several chamfered beams in the earlier
range as well as the base of a C14 decorated post, perhaps from an aisle,
ex situ beside the hearth.
