Corner of Ironmonger Street. Mid C18. 3 storeys and attics in ashlar, Hipped
stone slate roof with one hipped dormer. Small panelled parapet. Moulded stone
chimney stack, inscribed '1793 T.E.'. 2 windows with heavy stepped rusticated
surrounds with keystones of 5 parts. Double-hung sashes with glazing bars. Band
continues cills on top floor. Fluted Roman Doric pilasters flank the frontage
from 2nd storey to cornice, which breaks forward over these.
Return frontage to Ironmonger Street includes No 7 (qv). Dated 1732 on stack.
2 hipped dormers. 2-1-2 windows with rusticated surrounds and Doric pilasters,
as High Street elevation.
Nos 14 to 31 (consec) and Public Library form a group.
