6/228 Norwood Farmhouse

G.V. II

Farmhouse. Late C17, extended late C18, altered extensively mid
C19 and C20. Coursed limestone rubble, ashlar quoins and
dressings. Bradstone slate roof with 2 gable stone stacks. L-
plan. Single storey with attics, 2 bay C17 range, with off-
centre panelled door in rusticated Doric ashlar surround with
flat lintel and keyblock. To right a C20 3 light casement. In
the roof are 2 gabled dormers with 2 light casements and rendered
cheeks. To the left a separately stone coped gabled range, 2
storey with garret, single bay front having to ground and first
floors C20 2 light casements with moulded C19 hoods and to the
garret a blank 4 centred arched opening, with cornice, apparently
a re-used fire surround. Above an oval plaque and moulded finial
to gable.
