House. C17, extended 1782 and refronted mid C19. Coursed
squared limestone rubble, ashlar quoins and dressings. Red
Collyweston slate roof with stone coped gable and shaped kneeler.
Central ridge stack with ashlar base and C20 brick top. 2
storey, 3 bay front having plinth, moulded string course and
plain parapet. Central glazed double doors with overlight in
Tudor arched surround with hood mould. To left a 3 light window
and above a similar window, both with cavetto mullions, moulded
surrounds and hoods. To right a 2 storey canted bay window with
triple lights to each floor. To the rear a red brick 2 storey
with garret range having Collyweston mansard roof. To the gable
end are plain sashes and in the gable a glazing bar sash with
segmental head. In the wall an ashlar datestone of 1782. The
house is beside the site of the mill, the race and wheel pit of
which is preserved, although the building has gone, this is
listed as a separate item.
