Garden Archway to
demolished Uffington


Garden archway. c.1845. Ashlar. Semi-circular headed archway
with imposts and keyblock set in ashlar wall with cornice and
flanking pilaster. Behind the arch a further wall containing a
dome semi-circular headed recess containing a damaged bust with
the Bertie cypher beneath. The flanking pilasters support a
moulded cornice. The archway was formerly attached to the south
east corner of the now demolished Uffington House. Source:
