Drinking Fountain at north end of Market Place

Drinking fountain. 1897. Polished red granite. Square base
surmounted by shaft with octagonal knopped conical top. To
either side are brass spigots and on one side only a projecting
semi-circular basin. Above a recessed semi-circular headed
panel is the inscription "Diamond Jubilee 1897" and on the side a
further inscription "Victoria 1837-1901". Included for group
value only.
