Tetford Mill

Water mill and attached mill house. Late C18 with earlier core. Brick with earlier
pantile roofs, and a single ridge stack. Main front has symmetrical house to right
with central doorway with C20 panel door and narrow overlight under a segmental
head. Either side are single 2 light sliding sashes and above are 2 similar windows
all under segmental heads. To the left a single bay with a C20 3 light casement
to each floor. Beyond again the mill, with a half hipped roof and dentilated
brick eaves. To the right a plank door under a segmental head and to the left a
small 2 light window with beyond a large segmental opening with plank doors
which opens on to the water wheel. Above a plank loft door and to the left a
2 light sliding sash. INTERIOR The water wheel,which dates back to the mid
Cl7 though with much renewed timber remains intact as does all the machinery for
milling corn.
