7/5 Slate House Farm

II


Farmhouse. Mid C17, altered mid C19, C20. Red brick in English
bond, hipped slate roofs, 2 C19 ridqe brick stacks (originally a
single axial stack). L-plan. 2 storey, 3 bay front, central bay
fully advanced and hipped, chamfered plinth and offset first
floor band. Central doorway with chamfered elliptical arch
covered by C20 conservatory, and over the door a lozenge of burnt
headers, flanked by single French windows. To first floor a
glazing bar sash over the porch, to left a margin light, to right
a glazing bar sash. The rear wing also has plinth and band.
Interior has early C19 stick baluster stair with carved string.
Plain chamfered and ogee stopped beams, roll moulded bressumer
and beam.
