8/29 The Windmill

II

Tower windmill. Mid C19, raised late C19. Red brick with faded
colourwash to the base, some black brick. Concrete top with
chain railings extending the circumference. Moulded eaves band
of black brick headers. 4 storeys including the top late C19
storey. East side has a single segmental arched window opening
with a single similar blocked opening above. North side with 2
similar openings, the upper glazed and with glazing bars. West
side has a segmental arched doorway with plank door, above is a
single similar glazed window with single similar glazed window
over. The south side with no openings. Interior not inspected
but said not to contain any milling machinery. Peter Dolman.
