TA 10 SW NETTLETON MANSGATE HILL

3/17 Mansgate House
and Cottage

II

Formerly one house now 2 houses; C17 with late C18 addition and
alteration, with minor C20 alterations. Colourwashed stone and
brick with pantile roof and single brick gable and ridge stacks.
2 storey 5 bay front with first floor brick band and dentillated
eaves course. In the left hand end the stonework of the
original C17 cottage can be seen the remainder of the ground
floor and all 1st floor are in brick. The building has also
been raised later as the brick tumbling of an earlier pitch can
be seen in the right hand gable. The front has an off centre
C20 door flanked by large single glazing bar sashes. To the left
is a Yorkshire sash. Above the door is a blank opening with to
the right a single glazing bar sash and to the left 3 further
glazing bar sashes. All openings have segmental heads.
