Stables; circa 1812; with minor C20 alterations, yellow brick
with red brick dressings; hipped slate and felt roof, timber and
lead cupola. 2 storey with brick plinth, 6 bays with each end
bay advanced as projecting wings both having blind semi-circular,
headed arches, that on the left has original glazing bar sash,
that on the right has an inserted wider 3 light window. Over
both arches are small glazing bar sashes. The main front has 3
stable doors with 3 panel overlights on the left with to the
right a fixed glazing bar light and inserted C20 double doors.
In both returns are single stable doors with overlights. The
first floor has 4 small glazing bar sashes. All original
openings have flat red brick arches. In the centre of the front
between ground and 1st floor windows is a stone carved tablet
with a crest of a lion holding a king's head. On the centre
ridge is a timber cupola with a clock on the main face and
circular panels on other sides. It has a leaded dome and a fox
weather vane.
