5/116 Garden wall and
gateway at The
Vicarage

Garden wall and gateway, early C19, yellow brick. Gateway
flanked by single square brick pillars with moulded cornices and
pyramidal copings. To both sides, wall curves into gate. To
leftare 4 bays of wall divided by rusticated piers and a further
separate bay beyond the cottage. To the right are 5 irregular
bays which step upwards away from the gate. In the end bay is a
C19 planked door in a pointed archway. The lower parts of the
wall are blank beneath a roll moulding above which are zones of
pierced and blank crosses. Above again is a double roll
moulding beneath the clay saddleback copings. Included for group
value only.
