4/133 The Manor House

1-11-66 II

Farmhouse, late C18 with early C19 additions. Brick with hipped
slate roof having one wall and one ridge stack. L-plan. 4 bay 2
storey front, stone coped parapet. Off centre 6 panelled
partially glazed door with traceried fanlight having a wooden
doorcase with narrow hood. Flanked by single large projecting
bows which continue through 2 storeys. At ground and first floor
levels, the bows contain 3 glazing bar sashes. To the right is a
single glazing bar sash; on the first floor are 2 further
similar windows. All windows have splayed stucco lintels.
Inside, the late C18 dog leg staircase with turned balusters is
lit by a pyramidal skylight. Behind the main block is a service
court with reservoir under.
