TF 08 NW NORMANBY BY SPITAL PRIVATE LANE

6/32 High House

G.V. II

House. C17 with late C18, C19 and C20 alterations and C18
raising. Coursed limestone rubble with squared limestone rubble
bands, rendered and brick dressings, brick quoins. Raised stone
coped gables and kneelers, pantile roof and 2 rendered brick
gable stacks, L-plan. 3 storey 3 bay front with plain brick
eaves course with central 6 panelled door in C20 rendered
surround with narrow hood flanked by single margin light sashes.
To 1st floor is a central glazing bar sash with to right a
further glazing bar sash and to left a C20 plain sash. To the
2nd floor is a central small blank opening with traces of trompe
d'oeil painting flanked by single 3 light Yorkshire sashes. All
windows have flat rubbed brick arches and reveals. To the rear
are a 2 storey and single storey service blocks with raised stone
coped gables and brick gable stacks.
