6/18 Station

Station. 1848, extended 1870s. Stock brick, some limestone
ashlar. Slate roofs and overhanging eaves, large pantile stack
with ashlar corbelling and scalloped upper silhouette. 3 lateral
stacks. Single storey, 8 irregular bay south-west range; 3
storey, single bay block to north-east. South-west range with
doorway to left with plank door, narrow window to right, 2
windows beyond, another narrow window to right with window and
doorway with plank door beyond. Window to right. All the
windows blocked with wood. Platform runs in front. North end of
south-west block with round headed window flanked by single,
narrow round headed lights, all blocked. North front of north-
east block with first and second floor bands. Rectangular
blocked window with brick corbelled hood. 2 small roundheaded
casements above; casement above flanked by single lower,
narrower fixed lights. East side with first and second floor
bands. Rectangular blocked window with 2 small round headed,
blind lights above and blind window above flanked by single,
lower blind openings.
