II

Railway Goods Shed. c1850, with minor late C19 alterations. Designed by John Taylor for the Great Northern Railway Company. Red brick with Welsh slate roof and ashlar cope gables with brick kneelers and a small gable stack. North-west front has two large segment headed wagon entrances with double plank doors, and above in the gable a small window with glazing bars. Side fronts each have five round headed blind arches each with a Diocletian window with iron frame glazing bars. South east front has two large segment headed wagon entrances, that to the left with double plank doors and that to the right now blocked. Between a small single storey projection with a single glazing bar window. Above in the gable a small off-centre window.

Interior retains it original loading platform with wooden grain loft above supported on wooden posts, this loft has been reduced in width to allow taller wagons to use this shed. This building is listed as a rare survival of an early type of small scale railway goods shed.
