1761. Two storeys. Five windows. Brown brick, block cornice. Hipped tiled
roof. Central doorway at head of 5 steps, with engaged Ionic columns. Pediment.
Semi-circular fanlight. Door with 6 fielded panels. First-storey window over
has rusticated architrave surround. On each side of house a recessed portion
with block cornice and cat-slide roof. Contemporary wrought-iron railings
to street. John Thorpe, local historian and antiquary, built the house.
