By Simpson and Ayrton with Owen Williams. Opened 1923. Massive concrete
construction with twin domed towers on the long north side. The interior
and roofing has been largely altered in recent years. A relic of the Empire
Exhibition of 1924-25. Used for 1948 Olympic Games, and as the national
football stadium.
