Circa 1891 by J L Pearson. An impressive and successful design in restrained Gothic
style. Coursed squared stone with tiled roofs. Nave, aisles, chancel with north
and south transepts. Unfinished north-west tower. Flying buttresses to 5 bay nave.
Vaulted throughout. Apse in French C13 manner. Good ironwork. Font with very
elaborate Gothic cover. Fine collection of stained glass by Clayton and Bell.
