1896: W.W. Gwyther. Stone and grey marble. 4 storeys and roof-storey, ground
storey altered. 5 major bays wide, the outer bays projecting. 1st and 2nd storeys united by order of Corinthian 1/2 columns, with pilasters to responds of recessed centre, carrying entablature with modillion cornice. Attic storey with plain cornice, balustrade and urns. Centre has architraved sash windows, pedimented to 1st floor with bracketed cills to 2nd floor. Armorial bearings with supporting statuary at 1st floor centre. Outer bays have curved mullioned bow windows to 1st and 2nd floors, surmounted by attic and aedicular dormers projecting from slated pavilions. Roof to centre slated with smaller pedimented dormers. Terminates the view along Threadneedle Street.
