1929, by Lutyens, Whinney and Hall. Tall Portland stone front in modified classical
style. 5 main storeys. Arcaded ground storey, open at centre to vaulted lobby.
Shaped window to rusticated mezzanine. Corniced and pedimented windows to 2nd
storey; plain above. Parapet and part balustrade with 2 open, arched and pedimented
end pavilions in front of much recessed, 2 storeyed attic. This has central pediment
and elaborate, open end towers with order of Corinthian pilasters etc and shaped
roofs topped by gilt balls. Plain east flank now exposed. Rear of no interest.
