2 adjoining pairs of early C19 houses. Each 2 storeys and basement except for
No 25 which has had an extra storey added. One window each in central blocks.
All but No 23 have set-back, one window entrance links. Slate roofs, of moderately
low pitch with eaves soffit in front, projecting verges at sides, in main blocks.
Parapet fronts to entrance links. Plain reveals to sash windows with glazing
bars, those in main blocks of 3 lights. (Some glazing bars missing). Multicoloured
brick walls with stuccoed fronts. Along ground floor stone loggia, with wood
trellis in diamond and fishscale patterns, has swept lead roof with scalloped
wood bargeboard. Original 6-panel doors (with upper panels of Nos 25 and 29
glazed) have cornice heads with rectangular fanlights and are well set back in
quasi-Tuscan porches with square columns. No 23 has entrance on return to Catherine
Grove, with modernised door surround.

Nos 23 to 45 (odd) form a group.
