Range of C16 timber framed buildings, part of outer court of Eltham Palace. Much
restored but in correct style and material. No 34 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows,
irregular. High pitched, tiled roof with 3 later hipped, gabled dormers. Later
moulded cement eaves cornice.
Fairly close studded timbers with diagonal braces. Rendered filling. Overhanging
1st floor with visible beam ends. Windows, of varying number of lights, some
with transoms; restored, wood framed leaded casements.
Nos 36 and 38 Two storeys and attic, 6 windows. Projecting, one-window; left
wing under gable. 4th bay projects slightly under smaller gable. High pitched,
swept tiled roof. 4 later hipped, gabled dormers. Moulded and modillioned eaves
cornice. Close studded timbers in projecting section, fairly close in other
parts. Diagonal braces along front, arch braces to 4th bay, rendered filling.
Overhanging 1st floor, with visible beam ends, on curved brackets. No 38 has
some old wood mullioned and transomed windows, others are replacements and all
have modern leading. Modern doors in plain frames. Similar rear elevation
with later, gabled brick extensions. No 36 has large, flat, stone chimney stack.
The listed buildings on the West side of Court Yard form a group.
