4412 CRANE STREET SE10
The Curlew Rowing Club,
and residence above
TQ 3878 15/219
The street front is of no interest, being of plain brick, largely restored and
with modern windows; but the river front, of circa 1830, forms a worthy continuation
to the Trafalger Tavern. 2 storeys above retaining wall. Stucco with rusticated
ground floor. Entablature with dentil cornice and wreaths in frieze. Blocking
course over except in centre where there is a pierced parapet. In centre bay
3 grouped long sash windows with glazing bars and wrought iron guards. Similar
but shorter windows on ground floor. At sides single windows in canted angles,
long sashes with delicate glazing bars; and similar ground floor windows below.
The Curlew Rowing Club forms a group with the Trafalgar Tavern, Park Row.
