Originally a single house of early-mid C17. Refronted and divided mid C18.
3 storeys, 2 windows each. High pitched roof, now machine tiled. No 18 has
2 flat dormers. Rendered front with parapet. Sash windows, mostly with glazing
bars, in flush, moulded frames, those of No 16 with small, bracketed cornices.
1st floor windows of No 18 are replaced casements. Wood doorcases with carved
consoles and dentil cornice. No 16 has panelled frieze. Door of 6 fielded panels
with rectangular fanlight to No 16. Door of 8 fielded panels (reproduction)
and similar fanlight to No 18, which also has area railings with fleur-de-lys
heads.

All the listed buildings on the West Side of Cromps Hill from Nos 6 to 46 (even)
and the nos 38 and 40 form a group.
