Probably second quarter of C17 with considerable alteration in early and mid C18.
Dower House is at East end and has main East front of 2 storeys and attic, 3 and
2 windows under 2 gables. Red brick, outer walls probably largely rebuilt in
C18. 1st floor band stepped up in-centre and at sides. Sash windows with glazing
bars in exposed moulded frames. Ground floor windows early C19 long casements.
Doer of 6 fielded panels (top glazed) in fluted reveal. Doorcase of fluted Ionic
columns, modified entablature and pediment-like hood. North front, 3-gabled in
similar style. Visible high pitched tiled roofs show 2 builds. Doorcase of Atherton
similar but without hood. On West front some older brickwork in English bond.
On North side of Atherton an early C19 stuccoed facade with angle pilasters and
early C19 sash windows with glazing bars.
