Early C18. Red brick wall dividihg forecourt and running down to the central one of three square brick piers supporting stone urns. These piers hold two sets of wrought iron gates with ornamental overthrows. Low, stone-coped walls at either side support wrought iron railings and stretch to lower side piers of brick, also with stone urns.

No 3 (Essex Coach House) forms a group with no 4 (Essex House) and No 5 (Arnoside House and Arnoside Cottage) and the forecourt railings and gates.
