1847. Symmetrical row of cottages, each 2 storeys, one window with blank window
panels above doors. 4 centre bays project slightly under pediment. Fairly low
pitched slated roof. Stock brick with red brick quoins; window dressings and
diagonal brick cornice to pediment. Gauged flat brick arches to doors and to
recessed sash windows with glazing bars and stone cills. 4-panel doors under
heavy stone cornice hoods on carved scrolled brackets, of a C17 style. Stone
tablet in moulded brick frame in pediment:
"These almshouses were erected, and endowed by Mr Charles Wright of Enfield Highway
for the support of 6 poor women. AD 1847".
