Perivale Main front block
to Hoover Factory.

II*

1932-5 by Wallis, Gilbert and partners. Reinforced concrete with large
areas of glazing and much decoration in coloured tiles. Two principal
storeys plus set back roof storey. Wide elevation of 15 bays plus five
storey end stair case towers. recessed central entrance in Egyptian
Art Deco manner with elaborate coloured tympanum over doors. Possibly
the most significant arterial road factory of its date, and one of the
most attractive. Buildings nos 3 & 5 are not of special interest.
