Coal tax post, c1861. Metal c4½ foot high. Four legged plinth chamfered pier above with. moulded capital band and pyramidal top. City of London shield cast on the front with lettering on the pier reading "24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42". A coal and wine tax post indicating the boundary at which duty was payable; that on coal dating back to the 1660's.

This asset was previously listed twice. The duplicate record (List entry number 1029817) was removed from the List on 11 October 2018. The remaining record (List entry number 1294684) falls within the Local Authorities of Croydon and Tandridge.
