House of C18 appearance which may have been re-fronted about 1860-70. 2 storeys
basement and attic, 2 windows, very wide proportions. Slated mansard with 2 wide
dormers, tripartite sash windows. Gauged shallow segmental brick arches to 3
light windows, some sashes, sorne casements. Stuccoed basement plinth. Heavy
prostyle classical porch with square columns and 3 steps to half glazed double
door. Red brick front has cornice of moulded and diagonal bricks. On north return,
at 2nd floor, a canted bay has-early C19 sash winders with glazing bars, On 1st
floor a 3 light replaced sash with glazing bars and on ground floor a canted bay
With cornice. Inside shows house of circa 1700 with long range of segmental-vaulted
brick cellars stretching south below next houses. Considerable interior alterations
of about 1840. Included for group value.

No 43 and Nos 47 to 57 (odd) form a group.
