(East Side)
The Highgate Tabernacle
TQ 2887 40/245


Early c19 stuccoed building. Giant pilasters support central pediment. 3 long
round headed windows with moulded architraves and vermiculate key blocks; and
delicate glazing bars. At either side a battered door in shouldered architrave
with a small battered window above in similar architrave. Cast iron lampholders
over doors. A Presbyterian chapel was founded on the site in 1662 but the present
building was a Baptist place of worship.

Nos 16 to 20 (even) No 20A, Highgate Tabernacle and No 22 form a group.
