6.6.84 Godolphin and Latymer
School

- II

School. 1861. Charles H Cooke. Yellow brick, red brick bands, stone
dressings, slate roof. Main elevation to south. Central block of three
storeys and dormers, largely symmetrical, nine bays, with ends set forward
under gables, two storey canted oriel over. Windows largely square headed.
with mullions and transoms, except for windows to gables which are pointed;
six gabled dormers also with pointed windows, containing "y" tracery. Steep
pitched roof to eaves. To right, advanced classroom wing running at right
angles to main block; single storeyed with tall five-light plate traceried
pointed window with cusped oculi to window head; squat buttresses to flanks;
foundation stone, steep pitched roof and two fleches; tall chimneys. Additions
to right dated 1905. Additions to left of main block of 1909, and to south of
later 20th century.
