Probably C15. A portion of a larger building consisting only of a hall.
Architecturally 2-storeys but open from ground to roof as originally. South
front is plain C18 or early C19 red brick. Slate roof. Interior has timber
framed walls, gable ends with tie beams and upward curving braces. Hall of
2-storeys. One and a half-bays, with a near central tie beam supporting a
plain kingpost with 3 (out of 4) upward curving struts. Name derives from that
of temporary mediaeval court for travelling merchants at local fair ("pied poudre").
