Large house of early-mid C17 although with some external features of late C17
appearance. Red brick with diaper of blue headers, patched in places. 2 storeys
and attic, 13 windows. [Set back early C20 left extension; and blank C19 right
extension]. High pitched tiled roof has 7 hipped dormers, irregularly spaced;
and 4 panelled brick ridge stacks. Moulded and modillioned wood eaves cornice.
Stone 2nd floor band. Gauged flat brick arches to mullioned and transomed windows
many with old leaded iron casements. 1st and 8th bays are 2-storey canted
bays with 5 lights. In 4th bay fromleft. C19 6-panel door in stucco entablature
surround. Inside, hall and dining room have complete panelling and splendid
carved chimney pieces in robust artisan mannerist style.
