Description

1.
5018 CHURCH HILL
Manor Court
TQ 0590 5/65

II

2.
C16 and C17 considerably altered C19 and later. Pebble-dashed, fairly high pitched
tiled roof with rebuilt ridge stack. Modern casement windows and gabled porch.
Roughly U-shaped in plan with rear extensions.

Interior shows south wing as oldest part, with 2 bays of a timber framed building
having large rectangular panels of stout scantling and arched braces.

Central section contains massive chimney, no longer in use. (Interior has been much
subdivided for hostel use). Timber framing also exists in the north wing whose
original jetty was removed for road widening.

Present plans suggest an original hall and extended service wing to south, with small
parlour bay given an added north parlour wing in the C17; the rear extensions being
later.
