Early London Board School designed by the team under E R Robson. Three storeys,
5 gabled bays with a subsidiary staircase bay first left of right bay. Stock
brick building with dressings of red brick and Portland stone. High-pitched
tiled roof has tall chimney stacks with red brick lesenes and brick and stone
cornices. Moulded brick strings at floor level. Outer bays 2 windows wide,
others 4. In top storey large round windows rising into the gables (which break
eaves) are flanked by smaller windows. Gables are stone-coped and have scrolled
buttresses to cornice and round pediment.
Ornamental brick-framed stone panels below cornices. First floor windows flat
headed, ground floor segmental. Rear wing with higher hipped tiled roof and
cupola with onion dome and vane.
