Substantial mid C19 pair each two storeys, attic and basement, two windows. No
57 has an extra two-storey right bay. Stucco with incised lines, banded rustication
to ground floor basement. Top entablature with modillion cornice blocking course.
Slate mansard roof with dormers. All windows sashes with glazing bars; moulded
architraves on first floor; raised surround with stem pattern and angle flower
paterae under console bracketed cornices with pediments on ground floor of main
block. Projecting cills, with ornamental cast iron guards to these latter windows.
Ten steps, those of No 57 with stuccoed balustrade, to half glazed four panel
doors in moulded architraves set back behind an entablature surround.
