Neo-classical monument circa 1784, by Samuel Robinson. Adamesque. Coade stone.
Large square plinth with circular inscribed panels, frieze with delicate swags
and crowning urn of elegant outline. Corner angels missing. It commemorates
Edward Keep (e) who died in 1781. Signed "S Robinson, Coade". Photographs of
the monument are in the NMR.
A fine example of its kind. Design exhibited Royal Academy 1784. Illustrated
in Architect and Building News 26 January 1940, p 114. Rupert Gunnis Dictionary
of British Sculptors, p 106.
