Late C18. Originally a courtyard of out-buildings to Wanstead House. South
side is a brown brick barn of about 5 bays with pedimented centre and round headed
archway. Pantile roof. East and west ends have central 2-storey brown brick
buildings with pedimented pantile roofs. One-storey weatherboarded buildings
with pantile roofs right round and in front of all buildings save central east
and west blocks. Original wrought iron openwork gatepiers. The south front
of the barn is 2-storeys, 6 windows, central archway. Modern south extension
with large plate glass windows. All the buildings rather altered.
