School hall and classrooms. 1899. Sir B Fletcher. Red brick, cream stone
dressings, pitched slate roof. 2 storeys. Perpendicular style. Elevation
to Southside Common of 3 main bays, the other 2 set forward slightly and treated
as towers with decorative parapets and corner buttresses. Centre with square
headed moulded entrance having 3 traceried lights and school crest above 3-light
mullioned and transomed square headed windows to either side. First floor with
great 7-light perpendicular style traceried hall window, with transom. Coped
gable. Blind canopied niche over great hall window. Returns and rear with
similar treatment, buttressed. Hall interior largely unaltered.
