Late C17 screens by Tijou at south end of Privy Garden, and associated walls to Privy
Garden. Railings include 12 Tijou wrought-iron panels, with rich scrollwork, carbouches,
grotesque faces, swags and inset panels with various motifs, thisties, monograms, rosed,
harps and others. Flanked by openwork piers surmounted by crowns. Originally intended
for Fountain Garden. Erected in Privy Garden 1701, removed to V&A in mid C19 and
restored 1902.
