Circa 1720 with a front probably circa 1770. Two storeys, hipped slated gambrel roof
with three dormers. Five windows wide with centre bay shallow projection. Central Roman
Doric pedimented portico with triglyph frieze and paired columns. Later full height
wings to either side without attic. Riverfront similar with similar porch. Interior
has spacious entrance hall with good doorcases and staircase of circa 1720-40.
There is a painting of the house by J M W Turner in the Frick collection, New York
and National Gallery, Washington.
