(East Side)
Nos 1 & 3
TQ 3382 8/110 3.5.72.
Mid C19 facade to former public house and house adjoining. Built originally before
1731 (ref Survey of London Vol 27 Pages 84 and 89). These buildings form part
of a group with Nos 9 and 10 Fleur de Lys Street (qv). Brick, mansard roof, material
not visible. Heavy eaves cornice with carved end brackets and band below. 3
storeys and dormers. No 1 has 3 windows. No 3 2 windows. Sashes with stucco
architraves and sill brackets on 2nd floor of No 1 and on all floors of No 3.
Vermiculated keystones, some embossed in low relief.
No 1. Ground floor has a panelled wooden facade, and on return to Fleur de Lys
Street. Dentil cornice with spaced brackets. Windows have obtusely arched heads
with dentil cornice and are separated by wooden Ionic pilasters. Large square
windows with decorative band above. 3 sets of double doors.
No 3. Ground floor window now surrounded by plain stucco dressings. Doorway
has similar surround and vermiculated keystone.

The road surface of Elder Street with Nos 1 to 23 (odd) and Nos 24 to 36
even form a group with Nos 9 and 10 and the road surface of Fleur de Lys
